True to the “green” spirit of the honor, the plaque presented to last school year’s class of Our Lady of Perpetual Help seventh graders was made out of a circuit board creatively recycled from an old computer. The unique prize, brought to the Belle Chasse elementary school Aug. 30 by a representative of a New Hampshire-based recycling advocacy group, was presented at a schoolwide assembly to thank the now-OLPH graduates for their successful media campaign to maintain pick-up at Plaquemines Parish’s 18 public recycling bins.
